Hanahana Beauty

Hanahana Beauty is an all-natural, handcrafted, ethical skincare brand focused on empowering women of color and increasing transparency within the beauty industry. I worked as a designer from January 2021 to July 2021, leading the design of the 4ever Not Ashy Collection, an exclusive shea butter scent with a playful nod to the brand’s celebration of moisturized Black skin. I also designed print materials including packaging design for the brand's 2-in-1 Body Bar and insert cards sent with every order.

Curlbox

Curlbox was a monthly subscription service delivering full-sized products for naturally curly hair, offering an accessible way to discover new brands. In 2022, I led the rebrand, introducing a more modern visual identity to better connect with a Gen Z audience. The design system drew inspiration from the natural hair journey, using curved forms that echoed curl patterns, mixed typography to reflect the diversity of textures, and vibrant color and iconography to bring energy and approachability to the brand.

Owning the Block

Owning the Block, is a career empowerment experience for Millennials and Gen Z in Memphis founded by Karleen Roy. For the 2022 event, I led the creative direction, developing the branding, print, and experiential design system. The identity paired a clean, modern sans-serif logo with a playful slab serif to strike a balance between professionalism and approachability, adding texture and playfulness to the event's overall experience.

Skintellect

Skintellect is a Black beauty marketplace designed to encourage discovery of Black-owned clean beauty brands. I led the brand identity and social design, creating a classic logo lockup rooted in intention. The italicized “i” serves as a nod to how Apple reframed individuality through the iPhone, reinforcing the idea that skincare is not one-size-fits-all. Skintellect celebrates skin as personal while centering and championing Black women within the beauty space.

8th & Furman

8th & Furman is a global management agency representing a curated roster of diverse, multi-hyphenate creatives. I led the brand identity, social, and website design, using bold typography and striking photography to foreground talent and individuality. Framing devices and typographic scale were used to guide the eye, create hierarchy, and ensure the work always centered the creators themselves.

NYCxStudio

NYCxStudio is a social agency created by an influencer duo to give influencers of color a space for content creation and a platform to amplify their content. I was tasked with creating event flyer social designs, inspired by their vintage and nostalgic aesthetic.
